Who we are?
| |
Knowledge Exchange is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan
organization founded by a group of like minded persons from
different walks of life.
|
| |
This is a team of professionals concerned about the ways we teach
and the ways our children learn in our educational institutions.
|
| |
These professionals are dedicated to evolving innovative
knowledge, theories, models and ideas in pedagogy and content of
teaching and learning that promote excellence and quality in the
field of education
|
| |
This is governed by Founder, Chairman, Board of Trustees and
Members.
|
What is our
vision?
|
The fundamental challenge in every society is to create
system and mechanism that promotes growth, peace, human welfare
and the sustainability of the environment on which life depends.
|
|
We believe that the best way to meet this challenge is to form,
quite early in schools and colleges, men and women of
other-centered character who have sharp minds and
compassionate hearts
|
|
This formation lies in the ways we teach our children and in
the ways our children learn. This is the cultural capital that
can make a society strong and healthy.
|
| |
Therefore, by constantly observing teaching and learning,
evolving creative models of education and applying the
models we aim to create a knowledge economy that can usher in
an intellectually sharp, economically productive, socially
compassionatespiritually sound and politically democratic society
|
What is our
mission?
| |
To observe and investigate the processes of education in schools and colleges
in TamilNadu and India
|
|
To evolve new insights and models in education that produces capable,
employable and successful individuals who can lead an extraordinary life in an
ordinary way |
|
To advocate application of the new models in schools and colleges that will
form men and women who can empower the powerless and promote healthy,
prosperous and just society
|
What do we do?
|
We conduct field researches, seminars, conferences on the theme of education
in which we engage educationalists, theorists and social activists who can
provide inspiration to young minds.
|
|
We advocate policies that guide the process of education, inform parents about
new models, and help teachers think differently in their approach to
education.
|
|
We intervene the process of education by
conducting work shops and teacher training
|
|
We publish books, monographs, articles that are born out of our research and
interventions |
|
We assist poor students in their admission to educational institutions and
offer welfare programmes for the disadvantaged |
